The story behind AOE
Why AOE exists, and why it's built the way it is.
AOE wasn't created because of a desire to start another web design agency. It came from a much older interest: diagnosing a business, finding where it's actually breaking, and putting something in place so it stops breaking the same way.
That interest was shaped by working inside a real operation under a mentor — seeing up close how a business holds together day to day, and where it doesn't. What happens at a handoff. Where information gets recorded, or doesn't. What breaks when the person who normally handles something isn't available. The businesses that hold together aren't the ones working hardest; they're the ones with the strongest systems underneath them.
For a long time that stayed theory — the diagnosis was possible, the fix wasn't. Learning to build changed that. AOE is where the interest became practice.
Ownership became a conviction, not just a preference. Too many businesses become dependent on agencies, subscriptions, and platforms that control the very systems they rely on. AOE was built to be the opposite — infrastructure business owners actually own. That belief became AOE.
Rather than selling websites or individual software tools, AOE designs and builds operational systems — connecting workflows, information, customer experiences, and internal tools into infrastructure the company controls, built around how each business actually works.
That philosophy has already been put into practice.
AOE designed and completed the operating system for Daily Pawventures — replacing a manual request-and-scheduling process with one the business runs rather than remembers. AOE is currently building an internal equipment platform for Jilted Media: tracking what the company owns, who has it, what was approved, and what happened to it. Two sides of the same problem, internal operations and customer experience.
Every AOE system is designed directly around how the owner sells, delivers, communicates, and gets paid.
Every system AOE builds is designed and implemented directly by Michael Rojas, based in Colorado — no outsourced developers, no account managers, no handoffs. Founding clients work directly with the person building their infrastructure, from the first call through launch. AOE exists to help independent businesses grow through better infrastructure, while keeping ownership where it belongs — with the business owner.
